The Irish Times has appointed Laughlin Rigby as its new head of marketing.
An experienced marketer, Rigby was the former head of marketing communications for The Gathering, the successful Government-backed initiative that was responsible for enticing an additional 275,000 tourists to Ireland during 2013. Between them, it is estimated that they spent in the region of €170m within the economy.
For the past 17 months, Rigby has been head of marketing for Sunshine Coast Destination in Australia.
Prior to joining The Gathering he founded Travelshake.com, a social media platform for the travel industry worldwide. He also spent nearly four years as global digital marketing manager at Tourism Ireland and four years as its global brand manager. He also worked as a brand manager for the multinational giant Unilever.
