After the annual milestone of Easter and the chocolate-based over-indulgence that often entails, many people start to look towards the warmer weather of summer and getting healthy and fit for their holidays. Data from Kantar Media’s TGI study in Ireland reveals that 62% of adults claim to do some form of exercise at least once a week – down from 67% two years ago. At the same time, 44% consider their diet to be very healthy – far higher than the 35% figure for Great Britain.
Those who exercise are a fifth more likely than the average adult to have a family income of €75,000 or more, whilst the healthy dieters are 46% more likely to be aged 65 or over. One of the most effective ways to reach those who are committed to a healthy diet is radio – they are 20% more likely to be amongst the heaviest fifth of radio listeners.
