Orlaith Blaney, the former CEO of McCannBlue and president of IAPI, has been appointed as group head of brands and marketing at Ervia, the semi-state company that is responsible for the delivery of the gas and infrastructure in Ireland.
Blaney stepped down from her role with McCannBlue last year after nearly three years as its CEO. Prior to that she was CEO of McCann Dublin for over ten years and is highly regarded throughout the marketing and advertising industry.
Ervia is a commercial semi-state company and is the holding company for Irish Water and Gas Networks Ireland.
Gas Networks Ireland develops, operates and maintains the natural gas transmission and distribution networks in the Republic of Ireland and was formed after the Government sold the Bord Gais to Centrica. For its part, Irish Water was set up in 2013, initially as a subsidiary of Bord Gais, and the delivery and maintenance of the water infrastructure and services in Ireland. Since its formation, however, Irish Water has been embroiled in controversy and is currently at the centre of much speculation as talks to form a new Government continue to take place.
As Ervia’s new head of brands and marketing, Blaney will have a number of agencies reporting into her including Rothco, Carat, RedC and B&A.
