Havas Worldwide Dublin is expanding its creative department after a new hire and internal senior promotions.
Cannes Gold Lion winning creative Adrian Fitz-Simon was appointed as creative director of the agency after a move from Chemistry earlier this Summer, joining Peter O’Dwyer and Gary Boylan on Havas’ existing creative team. The addition to the team coincided with the internal promotions of Peter O’Dwyer from creative director to executive creative director and Gary Boylan who was promoted to creative director.
According to the agency, the expansion of the team came in response to the growing creative needs of the portfolio of clients that the Havas team work with.
“As we continue to expand our portfolio of clients and the services we provide, we want to maintain our commitment to excellent and innovative creative work. Not only have we grown our creative offering at Havas, we have also added some outstanding new digital, PR and copywriting talent to the Havas team,” says Bob Coggins, managing director of the agency.
With over 20 years’ experience in the Irish advertising industry, Adrian Fitz-Simon has worked with Irish International, CDP and Grey Helme. For the past 11 years Fitz-Simon worked with creative agency Chemistry, where he was named as Ireland’s first ever Cannes Gold Lion winner for his National Newspapers of Ireland ‘Power of Press’ campaign. He is now the creative lead on several Havas projects while still finding the time to create music for his solo project “The Band That Wasn’t There”.
Peter O’Dwyer continues his tenure in Havas with a promotion to executive creative director, which will see him lead on all Lucozade-Suntory projects. O’Dwyer will now oversee all aspects of creative work provided by the agency. With over 20 years’ experience in the creative industry as a designer, artist, photographer and art director, he has exhibited his original paintings in galleries in Dublin, London, New York and Moscow. His works are in the collections of Massive Attack, Irvine Welsh, The Chelsea Hotel in New York and The Absolut Art Collection.
With over eight years industry experience, meanwhile, Gary Boylan has worked on well-known projects for clients like Jacob’s Biscuits, Tullamore Dew and the Irish League of Credit Unions as well as an award winning campaign for Southern Comfort in 2015. Boylan was creative lead on the recent multi-award winning Tiger Beer project “The Tiger Uncaged” which saw a kinetic tiger roam the streets and bars of Dublin.
