JCDecaux has won the National Transport Authority (NTA) tender to maintain and supply advertising services to over 1,840 bus shelters owned by Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann.
JCDecaux was up against Exterion Media and the incumbent Clear Chanel Ireland which has held the contract for a number of years. The contract awarded to JCDecaux will run for five years and three months with an option to extend it by an additional three years and three months.
As part of the supply arrangement, it is understood that the NTA will pay JCDecaux in the order of €3m to maintain and upgrade the existing network of shelters as well as add new ones. For its part, JCDecaux will sell and manage all advertising space on the shelters and revenue from sales will be shared with the NTA for the duration of the contract.
The contract will also provide for the potential installation, at the NTA’s discretion, of additional advertising panels at non-bus shelter locations.
