Mediaworks and KBC Bank Ireland, have launched a new digital partnership that allows house hunters to take a virtual tour of properties up for sale on MyHome.ie.
During the media first pilot scheme, would-be house buyers will be able to watch 360-degree videos of up to 20 houses on the market by estate agents DNG in Dublin on their mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer through KBC’s YouTube channel and the MyHome.ie mobile site. A mix of properties, from starter homes to large family homes, will be featured online until the properties are sold.
The VR partnership forms part of KBC’s ‘Award Winning Mortgages’ campaign and is the first time a bank will give prospective buyers in the Irish property market the chance to “view” a house up close from their personal device.
According to Caroline Donnellan, head of marketing communications, KBC Bank Ireland: “This initiative is perfect for house hunters who want the convenience of viewing a house on the market before they see it and especially those who can’t attend a viewing because of work or family commitments. This latest initiative highlights KBC’s ongoing investment and innovation in both the digital and mortgage market.”
Angela Keegan of MyHome.ie, said this will bring an added focus to properties on open view the following weekend.
“The virtual viewings will be given top location in the ‘Open Viewings’ section of MyHome.ie and will allow users to click through to get a 360 degree view of each room in the selected property.”
According to Emer Lawn, director of digital with Mediaworks, “for us, one of the best elements of the initiative is that it is only possible via partnership – bringing together our team, KBC Bank Ireland, MyHome.ie and DNG. As we all must innovate beyond ‘banners and buttons’ the initiative uses media in a way that will be benefit the consumer; and we cannot wait to see the results.”
