Young marketers from across the industry attended the Marketing Society Future Council’s first event last week.
Aimed at marketing professionals with 3-5-years’ experience, Influencing the Influencers saw the audience receive expert advice from the panel of speakers on how to be more influential within their careers.
With a breadth of experience across the industry, speakers on the night included Rory Hamilton, the executive creative director of Boys and Girls, Fiona Buckley, an independent corporate trainer, lecturer and conference speaker and Padraig Hyland, communications coach, facilitator and speaker.
Sponsored by DMG Media, the event culminated with an informal evening of socialising and networking in the surrounds of Foley’s.
According to Chloe Murphy, chair of the Future Council: “We were delighted to see so many people from across the industry at the first Marketing Society Future Council event last night – the attendees we spoke to said they found the event fun, engaging and useful which is exactly what we set out to achieve. The atmosphere in Foley’s was great and we’re now really looking forward to the next one!”
The Future Council is a new initiative from the Marketing Society, which launched earlier this year. With seven panel members who have worked in the industry for five years or less, the Future Council’s objective is to promote thought leadership for the future leaders of the marketing community.
The inaugural council is made up of a representative group of the society’s members with Chloe Murphy from Boys and Girls, Mary Sheahan from MCCP, David Deeley from Bord Bia, Dermot Markey from Google, Aoife Marron from Red C, Hannah-Louise Dunne from Radical and Karen Sheehan from IPSOS MRBI.
Working alongside the General Council, the Future Council will also support the Council in delivering high calibre events that appeal to marketers at all levels and assist with the development of the society’s digital offering, including the Society’s online database of case studies and talks.
