Irish agencies were the clear winners at the IMC Europeans Awards which were held last night (November 25) with two agencies in particular – Guns or Knives and Boys and Girls – flying the flag high for Ireland, with the former emerging as the most awarded agency.
From a group of 81 finalists, Guns or Knives walked away with no fewer than 14 awards on the night including three gold, nine silver and two bronze awards.
Boys & Girls, meanwhile, won Ireland’s fourth gold as well as picking up two silver awards for its Hunger Sauce campaign for Gorta.
Five of the awards which were picked up by Guns or Knives, were for including one gold, were presented for Hailo’s “Drive for Equality” campaign, four (including one gold) for Orchard Thieves’ launch campaign and three silvers for Hailo’s 3rd Birthday, and one gold and one silver for Heineken’s It’s Your Call Rugby World Cup campaign.
It was also a good night for Havas Worldwide Dublin, which picked up a number of silver awards on the night while Verve, The Delta Group and Publicis also picked up awards, rounding off a strong performance from Irish agencies.
According to APMC chairperson Niamh O’Kennedy: “This year we’ve done remarkably well at the IMC European Awards. There were 81 nominated campaigns from across Europe and 25 of these came from Ireland. For a market our size, that is a really impressive result, so on any league table Ireland has done particularly well this year.”
