Gerry Lennon was named at Media Hero 2017 at the Media Awards which were held in Dublin last night, April 20.
The Award, which is sponsored by the Sunday Business Post, was given to Lennon for his outstanding service to the Irish media industry down through the years. As managing director of the Sunday World and the Irish Daily Star, Lennon is one of the most experienced and liked people within the industry and plays a key role within Independent News & Media. The announcement of the Media Hero award was accompanied by two standing ovations by over 900 guests in attendance on the Awards.
Meanwhile, Jade Finn from ZenithOptimedia was named as this year’s Rising Star seeing off stiff competition in the category which was sponsored by Dublin Airport. In the end, she saw off Dave Thomson of Starcom and Harry Eustace from Carat, both of whom were awarded Silvers by the judging panel.
