The Marketing Society Future Council’s first annual summer event will take place on June 16th in Old Wesley in Donnybrook.
Called The Summer Future Festival, and held in association with IRS+, the event will give young marketers from across Ireland the chance to learn directly from the industry’s leading innovators and dance the night away to 1980s tribute band, Spring Break.
The Future Council has lined up a number of well-known industry speakers including Core Media’s chief digital and data officer, Justin Cullen; IRS+ account director, Karen Doyle and advertising guru, John Fanning, who will share their views on the future of marketing.
Sponsored by IRS+, guests on the night will hear first-hand expertise and insight from leading speakers in an intimate and informal environment.
According to Chloe Murphy, chair of the Future Council: “We’re really excited to launch the inaugural Future Council Summer event. There’s a lot in store with great speakers and what’s sure to be a stellar performance from Spring Break. It’s a perfect opportunity for marketers from across the whole industry to feel inspired, get together and have some fun.”
After the speakers take to the stage, guests will be treated to festival-style food and a vibrant performance from Spring Break.
According to Peter Smyth, CEO of IRS+: “IRS+ is committed to the betterment of radio within the media landscape so we are delighted to be a part of this event as it brings innovation to the forefront and shines a spotlight on the future talent of our industry.”
The Future Council is an initiative from the Marketing Society which launched in 2016 to promote thought leadership for the future leaders of the marketing community. The Future Festival follows a successful year of activity, with the Council hosting two previous events over the last year, ‘Influencing the Influencers’ and ‘The F Word’.
With a representative group in place, the Council counts Chloe Murphy from Boys and Girls, Mary Sheahan and Aoife Marron from MCCP, David Deeley from Bord Bia, Dermot Markey from Google, Hannah-Louise Dunne from Radical and Karen Sheehan from Novartis as its members.
And following a recruitment drive, the Council has also announced that Cian Keogh of Aer Lingus, Caroline Shesgreen of Vizeum, Eavan Fallon of Guns or Knives and Gavin Carberry of RTÉ are joining the Council for its second term.
Working alongside the General Council, the Future Council also support the Council in delivering high calibre events that appeal to marketers at all levels and assist with the development of the society’s digital offering, including its online database of case studies and talks.
