The search for a new CEO of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has started following the surprise announcement that Tania Banotti is to leave the job to take up a role as head of the Government-backed initiative Culture Ireland.
Banotti joined IAPI in 2012 after stints working with the Theatre Forum Ireland, where she was CEO and Screen Producers Ireland.
“I will be sorry to say goodbye to so many terrific people that I had the opportunity to work with over that time. It has been a really busy time for IAPI and for the industry, a time of great change. IAPI has transformed into an active, dynamic association responsive to members’ needs. For that I thank my hard-working colleagues, the great boards and all the individuals in agencies I worked with on various projects, committees and awards,” she says.
During her time at IAPI, Banotti is credited with re-invigorating the organisation and has been instrumental in the formation of a number of industry initiatives including the Doyenne Awards as well as a campaign to get more Irish agencies to enter the Cannes Lions Festival in the south of France every year. In addition, she is responsible for implementing a major overhaul of IAPI’s flagship events- the ADFX Awards- which IAPI runs every two years.
