Ahead of the AIB GAA All-Ireland Senior Club Finals in Croke Park on the 17th of March, long term sponsor AIB has released an emotional TV ad giving fans a new exclusive insight into the dressing rooms of two clubs in stark contrast.
The ad, which was created by Rothco, was shot immediately after the final whistle at the AIB All-Ireland Senior Hurling Club Championship Semi-Final between Na Piarsaigh and Slaughtneil, and captures the raw emotion of both teams in the dressing room following their dramatic battle; the heartbreak of Slaughtneil offset by the relief of Na Piarsaigh. One has made it to Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day, the other could not be further from All-Ireland glory.
This story follows on from AIB’s previous ad captured in the dressing room of Mount Leinster Rangers as James Hickey made a powerful and rousing speech ahead of their semi-final victory against Lougheil Shamrocks in 2014.
Although the camogie team will look to retain their AIB All-Ireland Camogie Club title this Sunday, 4th of March, this video has captured the end of Slaughtneil’s hurling journey, and they were further disheartened to lose their football semi-final to Nemo Rangers. But to be tough enough to win, teams must be tough enough to lose. The hunger to win with your club is something that drives all GAA players and no doubt this will spur Slaughtneil on even further in next year’s AIB GAA Club Championships.
