ICAN has appointed Maria Scannell as the agency’s new managing director with immediate effect.
She replaces Siobhan Lavery who has left the agency after more than 18 years.
Scannell brings a huge amount of local and international agency and digital experience to the business. She joins the Irish-owned agency from Digicel, where she was Founder and Head of Trend Media Pacific, a digital lead agency, operating in six markets across Asia Pacific. She has also held positions with Core Media, Mirror Media and INM in Ireland.
Maria commented “I am excited to be taking over an agency that is renowned for digital lead innovation and creativity. And leading the team at a time when ICAN’s services and expertise have never been more relevant,” she says.
According to Adrian Serle, Group CEO at Communicorp Media which owns the agency:“We are delighted to have hired someone of Maria’s calibre in to this role, to help shape and direct ICAN’s future, to leverage its many assets, and to work with new and existing customers to provide compelling digital creative solutions”.
The agency recently celebrated the launch of its first European-wide campaign for new client OtterBox after a competitive pitch. Founded in 1998, OtterBox is the leading selling brand of protective cases for smartphones in the USA and a global leader in mobile device protection.
“ICAN stood out in the market as a creative agency that knows how to connect with people across multiple platforms in genuinely original and creative ways. ICAN’s creative video approach ticked all the right boxes for our new Europe-wide campaign,’ says Caire McGuinness, Marketing Manager EMEA, OtterBox.
