Sandra Alvarez, Managing Director of Spark Foundry, will sit on the judging panel of the Festival of Global Media which takes place between the 13th and 15th of May in Rome.
This is the first time a judge from Ireland has been selected to sit on the panel and shows that with Irish agencies’ work featuring at international awards festivals more and more, the global advertising industry is looking to Ireland for input and expertise
The Festival of Global Media is unique in that it is dedicated to media. Bringing together the world’s biggest spending brands, leading media agencies, international media owners and tech companies; the event will showcase the latest in media thinking. With over 60 speakers lined up, attendees will hear from global media and marketing leads including senior representatives from Adidas, Snapchat, Lego, Jaguar, Amazon and Mars, amongst others.
Sandra, who joined Spark Foundry as Managing Director last year, has also been appointed to chair the judging panel at the EACA’s Pan European Competition, which takes place in Vienna later this month. 430 students from 13 countries have been working on a brief from Amnesty International since last year, putting the skills they have learned in class to the test.
Sandra Alvarez, Managing Director of Spark Foundry, says: “I’m thrilled to attend both the Festival of Global Media and the EACA’s Pan European Competition to act as a judge. Creativity isn’t limited by borders or budgets and it’s always wonderful to see the standard of work being produced across Europe and the world by advertising practitioners and students. What I’m particularly excited about is seeing media led campaigns take their place on the global stage.”
