The Irish media and advertising industry was out in full force last night for ‘Andyfest’, a special fundraising event to commemorate Andrew McDermott who sadly passed away in April.
Over 450 people attended the event which was held in Twenty Two South Anne Street with a host of artists like Jerry Fish, Mundy, Oliver Callan and Foil Arm & Hogs providing the entertainment on the night.
A well-known figure in the Irish advertising industry over the last 20 years, Andrew worked in a number of agencies and media organisations, including McConnell’s, McCann Erickson, Carlton Screen Advertising, the Sunday World and, more recently, INM.
According to a spokesperson for the organising committee, “the organisers wish to extend their deepest gratitude to all who attended ‘Andyfest’ last night and to those who donated to the Andrew McDermott fund. With an fantastic turnout from the entire industry, an incredible night was had by all. From lots of laughter to loose dance moves! An outstanding amount has been raise to help Andrew’s young family and we thank all who contributed. It was an marvellous night, a fitting occasion to remember such a wonderful person.”
