An Garda Síochána will air their first tv ad this week, a recruitment campaign for their 2020 intake. The campaign was launched by Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan stating the drive was part of the government’s plans to increase numbers in the force with members of minority communities in particular being encouraged to consider applying to increase diversity in the force.
The campaign highlights the skills that people may already have, that would make them great Gardaí.
Creative Director Helena Jones says “There can be few roles where ‘making a difference’ is more true or important than in An Garda Síochána. The new recruits to the force could be from different backgrounds and this campaign says both those things at once. It allows us to look at lifestyles and activities outside of policing and to draw analogies with the world of work within An Garda Síochána”.
The creative is compelling and reveals how three people with different interests could find a place for themselves in An Garda Síochána. It sets out to target people who wouldn’t necessarily have ever considered a career with the Gardaí. It includes a TV ad, press, radio, VOD, social media and posters in 13 different languages.
The competition will run until 24th April 2019.
