Irish rugby legend Gordon D’Arcy has teamed up with Brightwater Group, a leading recruitment consultancy, and is joining it as its new commercial director.
Brightwater Group Managing Director, Barbara McGrath said D’Arcy’s role would be client-facing and he would play an integral part in building client relations and driving business growth across the island.
“Gordon combines academic achievement with success at the highest level in sport, having spent 18 years as a professional rugby player for Leinster and Ireland. His experience of building and maintaining high performance teams focused on delivery will fit perfectly into our plans for the Group in the UK and Ireland. We believe he has a terrific blend of skills that can be put to great use as we continue to build a best-in-class specialist recruitment consultancy,” says McGrath.
Gordon D’Arcy (39) said he was relishing this new professional challenge: “Ever since first meeting Barbara and her senior executive team I have been genuinely impressed with Brightwater’s corporate culture, ambition and values, all of which resonate with my own. I’m really looking forward to playing my part in the Group’s future success whilst, at the same time, benefiting from the mentoring and personal development provided by my new colleagues.”
Brightwater Group, which is headquartered in Merrion Square, Dublin and has offices in Cork and Belfast currently employs 95 people across the island and is celebrating its 21st year in business.
Gordon D’Arcy is Ireland’s longest serving rugby international. He recently signed up with author, Paul Howard to write as series of children’s books, the first of which is due to be launched next month.
