BBDO Dublin has made a number of key appointments including Karen Austin as senior account director and Ciara Burke as account director.
Karen Austin joins the agency from Rothco, part of Accenture Interactive, where she led the AIB, Guinness Ireland and daa accounts. Prior to Rothco , she began her career at Chemistry and moved onwards to Publicis Dublin, where she spent over five years working across a broad range of sectors.
“I’m delighted to join BBDO at a very exciting time in the agency’s journey and I look forward to working closely with the team to develop further opportunities for our clients”. Karen will be leading BBDO’s EBS team and also joins the agency’s Tourism Northern Ireland account,” says Austin.
Recently returned from London, Ciara Burke joins the agency following eight years of account management experience at both The&Partnership and Karmarama agencies, respectively. During that time, she worked across through-the-line campaigns for a portfolio of international clients including Wella, Novartis, BBC, Nintendo, BT, Argos and Ferrero. Her career highlights include leading projects such as the ’80 Days of Argos’ campaign, which won Gold at the Cannes Lions, Grand Prix at The Drum Awards as well as The British Arrows and The Campaign Big Awards. She also led the RNIB’s first entirely-accessible rebrand, which was awarded by both the Creative Circle Awards and The Creative Review Annual.
According to Katie Cunningham, head of account management: “We are thrilled to have Ciara and Karen join our expanding department. Not only do they have a considerable level of account experience, they also possess creative ambition and brilliant energy. I know that having them on board places us in a solid position to continue to develop and enhance our client work and greater opportunities for the agency too.”
