With the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team heading down under to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand in July, RTÉ is quoting €160,000 for the sponsorship of its exclusive coverage of the tournament.
The broadcaster is also quoting €90,000 for the joint sponsorship of the tournament.
RTÉ will broadcast 42 matches over 25 days, opening with the first two matches of the tournament, the Republic of Ireland vs Australia in Stadium Australian in Sydney and New Zealand vs Norway in Eden Park, Auckland on July 20. The final of the tournament will take place on August 20 in Sydney.
The broadcaster has exclusive rights in Ireland to broadcast the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and the sponsorship package includes a minimum of eight stings on all matches which will be broadcast live on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player. In addition, the package includes a minimum of four stings on all its highlights programmes and one sting served before each stream of 14 matches on the RTÉ Player. Branding on all stand-alone TV promotional trailers also forms part of the overall package.
Vera Pauw’s Republic of Ireland team has been placed in Group B along with Australia, Nigeria and Canada.
Meanwhile RTÉ is also looking for a sponsor for Fair City from May onwards.
Now in its 34th year and watched by over 1.2m adults every week, RTÉ is quoting €150,000 for a minimum commitment of three months. The soap opera is aired four times a week.
