Virgin Media Television (VMTV) has appointed Anthony Nilan as its director of programming.
In his new role he will report directly to Áine Ní Chaoindealbháin, VMTV’s managing director and he will be responsible for delivering on VMTV’s public service remit, overseeing the networks non-news and sports output including commissions, acquisitions, and scheduling for five linear channels as well as VMTV’s VOD service
Nilan has held a number of roles since joining VMTV almost 10 years ago, working in commissioning and more recently as head of content strategy. Prior to his time at VMTV, he worked for nine years in the independent sector, producing some of the biggest entertainment formats on Irish television such as The Apprentice, The Voice, and Dragons Den.
