Nick Mulcahy and Siobhan O’Connell, the two co-founders of Business Plus magazine, have stepped away from the business two years after it was acquired by DMG Media Ireland.
Mulcahy and O’Connell founded Ireland’s leading business magazine 25 years ago and since then it has gone on to establish a successful online dimension to it with BusinessPlus.ie.
To replace the duo, DMG Media Ireland has appointed Ben Haugh as editor and Mairead Kearns as commercial manager. In addition, Wini Moore has been appointed as account manager with Business Plus.
Previously, Haugh has worked with the Irish Daily Mail and Irish Mail on Sunday in addition to a stint as news editor of The Times and Sunday Times. More recently he worked as deputy news editor of the Business Post and editor of Business Post magazine.
A veteran of the Irish media industry, Mairead Kearns has worked as a commercial lead for some of the country’s largest publications, most recently as head of sales for INM (now Mediahuis). Well known and highly respected in the industry, she also founded and ran a content creation agency called Konnect.
For her part Wini Moore has over 15 years’ experience in print, digital, advertising having worked with titles liked The Sunday Times and Car Buyers Guide as well as IRS+.
“Ben, Mairead and Wini who bring an incredible breadth of experience to the brand,” says Paul Henderson, CEO of DMG Media Ireland. “Being the leading publication for Irish business news and insights remains at the heart of who we are. Business Plus was built over the last 25 years by Nick Mulcahy and Siobhan O’Connell and I look forward to continuing to work with them both in the future within the wider DMG Media network.”
