The GAA has launched its biggest ever campaign to promote this year’s All Ireland Football and Hurling Championships.
It’s expected that more than 1m spectators will go through the turnstiles to support their county this summer.
Themed ‘It’s in us all’, the campaign was created by In the Company of Huskies while Maxus is handling all the media planning.
Two brand new 30 second TV spots have already gone live and the campaign will run nationally across radio, digital, print and OOH throughout the summer. The campaign will also look to invigorate younger fans through social content including innovative ad formats across various platforms. YouTube will also be used to target users with advertising as well as offering the latest GAA video content and match highlights.
The GAA Championships are supported by some of biggest brands in Ireland with AIB, eir and SuperValu sponsoring the GAA Football Championship with Bord Gáis Energy, Centra and Littlewoods Ireland the Hurling sponsors.
According to Rebecca Mulligan, Senior Marketing Manager of the GAA: “We’re excited to launch our 2017 Championship activity. In creating this campaign we wanted to capture the colour, the energy and the atmosphere of Championship matches, as well as the skill and dedication of our players. For many people, their summer memories are framed by their match day experiences. From the provincial championships through to the All-Ireland series, we look forward to another summer of matches and moments that will be talked about for years to come.”
