Micheál Scully has been appointed as chief executive officer of Entertainment Media Networks (EMN), the company that publishes Entertainment.ie and Beaut.ie which between them have a combined reach of more than 2.2m unique users per month.
Scully will join EMN from DoneDeal, Ireland’s largest online classifieds website where he has been commercial director for the past few years. Prior to joining DoneDeal, he worked with Google and before that he was sales director with Electric Media Sales. He replaces Julian Douglas who left the group earlier this year.
EMN has also announced that Jessica Hickey has been promoted to chief operating officer of the group. Hickey has worked in the advertising industry for over 15 years across outdoor, print and digital. She has been commercial director of EMN for the past two years and is currently the chair of IAB Ireland’s Mobile Council.
EMN’s chairman Dermot Hanrahan says “Entertainment.ie is one of Ireland’s leading digital businesses and brand leader in its sector. Latterly Beaut.ie has joined the fold and is growing rapidly. We are committed to doubling the size of the business over the next couple of years and to achieve that we are delighted to have two very talented digital executives on the team to lead this process. Both businesses are best in class and we believe we have a team in place of equal calibre.” He adds that Entertainment.ie will mark its 18th year in business this October, surviving two recessions and endless changes in the digital landscape.
“Entertainment.ie and Beaut.ie have massive amounts of untapped potential. I’m so excited about the opportunities that these brands have to grow commercially and editorially,” says Micheál Scully.
