Extra.ie, the DMG Media-owned Irish news website has reached 600,000 unique monthly users according to the company.
Launched in February, the website offers a broad mix of news, sport, business and entertainment aimed at an Irish audience.
“Since its launch the audience has grown massively every month and Irish people have really embraced this new site, built for mobile and using strong imagery throughout the site. In the first six months, it has already reached 600,000 monthly uniques and shows no signs of slowing down. It has also proved very popular with advertisers with lots of display, native and partnerships in the first six months, across a wide range of brands,” says Christian Jago Byrne, commercial manager of Extra.ie
“News and an ever-expanding sport offering have been key drivers of the audience growth, though new sections like technology and the extensive use of video has helped to set Extra.ie apart and drive this growth. The new Extra.ie App has just gone to market for iPhone and Android to help fuel further growth for the brand,” he adds.
