Irish Times Introduces New Culture Magazine as Part of Weekend Edition

Tomorrow’s Irish Times Weekend Edition will publish a brand new culture magazine called Ticket as well as a revamped Saturday Magazine with a fresh look at the week’s events in its Weekend Review.

A team of critics and specialist writers will guide readers through the cultural landscape in Ticket, including the likes of Patrick Freyne, Donald Clarke, Tara Brady, Fintan O’Toole, Peter Crawley and radio critic Michael Heaney.

The paper’s books section moves to Ticket too and readers can expect to find a carefully-curated selection of reviews of the latest crop of Irish and international books, alongside essays on literary topics and the latest from the world of books.

In addition, the paper is introducing a number of new writers including Marian Keyes, Sean Moncrieff, food writer Carmel Somers and relationships columnist Roe McDermott all of whom will join Jennifer O’Connell, Ross O’Carroll Kelly, John Wilson, Deirdre McQuillan, Laura Kennedy and Catherine Cleary in the Magazine line-up.

The magazine is also beefing up its food offering with a recipe column from new food writer Carmel Somers, Vanessa Greenwood who will write about baking, while food and wine writers Marie Claire Digby, JP McMahon and John Wilson will continue to bring readers the latest news and interviews from the food and wine sector.
