Bord Gáis Energy’s new “Christmas Switch” advertising campaign kicks off this week, offering customers who switch to its Dual Fuel product 10% off gas, 12% off electricity, €175 cashback and a free boiler service. The campaign – which will involve radio, digital and a new 40-second TV ad – begins today and will run until the 17th of December.
The BGE Christmas Switch campaign is a parody on the docu-style Christmas ads seen at this time of year. The ad plays off the fact that people switch unwanted gifts at Christmas time and the good feeling they get from the switch. Switching feels good, especially if it’s to Bord Gáis Energy and with the very strong new offers in place, this gives people more reasons to do so.
The new offers for new and existing customers will be available until the 8th of January next. For more information on the new switching offers, visit www.bordgaisenergy.ie.
Dermot Mulligan, Marketing Controller at Bord Gáis Energy said; “The Christmas marketing season is naturally a very busy one across the retail industry, so real cut-through can be difficult to achieve. However, this year we are bringing together some truly fantastic offers for new and existing customers with another humorous take on something many of us mightn’t admit publically, switching gifts we have received in the past.”
Jimmy Murphy, Business Director of Publicis commented; “Christmas ads have become a phenomenon in themselves, with brands vying to outdo each other with their warmth and sensitivity. Being honest, we’ve made our fair share of them! It’s fun to take a more irreverent approach for once and get attention for what is a great energy offer.”
The campaign was developed by Publicis and the television ad was produced by Motherland.
