Nora Torpey has been appointed to the role of Head of Marketing & Consumer Communications with RTÉ. She will take up her new role in early June will report to Adrian Lynch, Director Audiences, Channels & Marketing.
Torpey is a senior marketing strategist with over 18 years’ experience developing and executing brand and marketing strategies to grow some of the world’s leading brands including Tesco, Vodafone and Coca Cola. Most recently, she spent four years with Tesco Ireland as Head of Brand and Communications, a role which saw her and her team take responsibility for defining Tesco Ireland’s brand and communications strategy, and contributing to the year-on-year growth of the business.
“It’s a massive honour to be joining the team at RTÉ. It’s a station I’ve grown up with and always loved. I see RTÉ as playing a really important part in Irish culture into the future and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to be part of that,” she says.
Commenting on her appointment, Adrian Lynch added: “Nora has all of the experience and attributes to be an outstanding creative marketer, for both RTÉ’s portfolio of services and its content offering, as well as being a strong team leader.”
Joseph Hoban, meanwhile, will continue to head up strategic and corporate communications. As Head of Communications and Corporate Engagement, he will lead RTÉ’s corporate activities, including events, partnerships, corporate marketing and social strategy.
