Pádraig Staunton has been appointed as the new managing director at communications firm Havas Worldwide Dublin. The 37 year old founded and headed Ground 4D, the company he sold to the Havas group in 2009.
According to Staunton, Havas globally is focused on bringing its clients “to the future first”, a concept Staunton says lies at the heart of the group’s business strategy. “Strategic vision, brave decisions, awesome ideas and the right comms mix are the pillars on which Havas Dublin will build the future,” he says.
Staunton takes over from Brian Hayes who ran the agency for 13 years under the Havas and Young Euro RSCG brands. Hayes has assumed the role of Group CEO, focusing on new acquisitions and maximizing relations with the Havas Worldwide network.
“I’m delighted to take the reigns at Havas in Dublin” says Staunton. “I am bringing my entrepreneurial outlook and appetite for single minded communications to this exciting role. This business is now entirely determined by the consumer, and that’s what makes it so exciting for me. Developing insightful thinking that leads to amazing concepts is what gets me out of bed in the mornings, and finding the most relevant platforms to communicate those ideas is what keeps me awake at night.”
Speaking about the appointment, David Jones, global CEO of Havas commented: “I’d like to welcome Pádraig as MD of our Dublin operation. I am confident that he will drive the Havas Worldwide vision of being the most integrated of all of the communications groups with the simplest structure that can offer our clients a powerful combination of creative excellence, digital expertise, scale, agility, and innovation.”
