If you are still looking for some inspiration when it comes to cooking the Christmas dinner, RTÉ Player has have launched a new online Food Hub, a dedicated space for food lovers on the RTÉ Player which will contain bite-size video recipes from well-known chefs like Darina Allen, Donal Skehan, Kevin Dundon, Rachel Allen, Neven Maguire, Richard Corrigan and Catherine Fulvio.
While the current batch of videos have a distinct Christmas theme to them, in January the Food Hub will move to healthy mode with a collection of healthy recipes to kick-start the New Year.
Commenting on the launch of the new RTÉ Player Food Hub, Aoife Byrne, Director of Content and Products, RTÉ Digital, said “The new dedicated online Food Hub on RTÉ Player is an exciting new addition for our audiences. Featuring bite-size recipe videos from some of Ireland’s most inspiring chefs, the format is perfect for our increasingly mobile audience who want short snackable content on the go. Throughout the year, audiences can look forward to a monthly release of new foodie video recipe collections.”

In addition to the Food Hub, the RTÉ Player will play host to a number of the broadcaster’s top shows during 2015 with the “Most Watched TV Collection” which features some of the top programmes and TV moments of the year, including The Late Late Show Valentine’s Special, Fair City and EastEnders Christmas episodes, Stephen Fry on The Meaning of Life with Gay Byrne, Homeland Finale and Colin Farrell on Claire Byrne Live and full episodes of review programmes, including Panti Does 2015 and The Year that’s In It.
The broadcaster has also lined up a number of box-sets and comedy and music-related content including the likes of Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas Special, the Father Ted Christmas Special,, Republic of Telly, the Savage Eye as well as a curation of concerts featuring U2, Kodaline, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Hozier. For viewers who like the Australian soap Home & Away, the RTÉ Player will also show 12 of the soap’s top episodes from 2015, including Ed Sheeran‘s cameo on the show.
Finally, in the aftermath of his recent win over José Aldo, fans of Conor McGregor can catch up on his story so far with a special ‘Fight Week’ Collection on RTÉ Player. This includes a boxset of The Notorious six part series and two early interviews on The Late Late Show where a young, dapper and ambitious McGregor meets Ryan Tubridy. Not to be outdone, Vogue Williams toughens up with Wildgirls, a three-part series which takes her into contact with some of the world’s toughest women.
