The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) has appointed Lisa Buckley to its Complaints Committee.
Buckley is currently Communications & Marketing Manager with NewsBrands Ireland, the representative body for all national newspapers, print and online, across the country. She will now contribute to the ASAI Complaints Committee in conjunction with her existing role.
The Complaints Committee is an independent arm of the ASAI and is responsible for considering and dealing with complaints submitted by the public, by a member of the ASAI, by a Government Department or any other person or body of persons.
Her role within NewsBrands Ireland includes the planning, orchestration, and delivery of key annual initiatives for the organization including the Journalism Awards, Press Pass News Literacy and Student Journalism programme, and events and research initiatives for the advertising community. Prior to joining NewsBrands, Lisa was an Account Director with a leading public relations consultancy where she devised communications campaigns for a wide variety of consumer and corporate clients.
Welcoming Lisa’s appointment to the ASAI’s independent Complaints Committee, Orla Twomey, Chief Executive of the ASAI, said: “Lisa will bring a wealth of experience and industry insights to her new role and we’re delighted to have her on board. Her appointment also illustrates the high calibre of individual talent contributing to the ASAI’s independent Complaints Committee. On behalf of myself, our Chairman Sean O’Meara and the ASAI Board, we’d like to wish Lisa every success in her new role.”
