Rothco has picked up the creative advertising accounts for both Bord Gáis Networks and Irish Water following a competitive pitch that also included DDFH&B, Target McConnells and Publicis Dublin which already had the Irish Water account.
The pitches for both the media and creative accounts were held last November and December. As reported earlier this week on Adworld.ie, Carat picked up the media planning and buying accounts for Bord Gáis Networks and Irish Water.
Bord Gáis Networks owns and operates the natural gas network in Ireland and is separate to Bord Gáis Energy which is in the process of being sold off for an estimated €1.1bn to a consortium of companied headed up by Centrica, Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners and iCON Infrastructure. The creative account for Bord Gáis Energy is held by DDFH&B.
Bord Gáis Networks has also been charged with overseeing the roll-out and management of the Irish Water which has been set up to take over the water and wastewater services of the 34 local authorities around the country. Beginning on a phased basis In January 2014, Irish Water estimates that it will take up to five years for the company to be fully established although the installation of water meters in homes and businesses around the country has already begun. The company will also be responsible for customer care and billing.
