The Reach-owned Irish websites which include Irish Mirror, Dublin Live, RSVP Live and Cork Beo have all contributed to a record number of users in July, according to the group.
In the UK Reach, the parent company of Mirror Media, overtook rival stables News UK and Daily Mail Group for the first time in terms of unique views going by data released by Comscore.
According to the group, its stable of regional websites in the UK and Ireland, was responsible for much of the growth. A total of 1.4bn page views were recorded across its regional and national online portfolio in the UK and Ireland with the Irish sites collectively contributing 52m page views to the total network performance.
In terms of the Irish business, Cork Beo is the biggest success story surpassing one million page views only two months since launching, according to Reach.
Meanwhile the publisher’s RSVP Live website reached its biggest-ever audience in terms of users, with over 2m coming to the site in July. In Northern Ireland, meanwhile, Belfast Live rounded off the record audience month for the publisher with its highest month ever in multi-platform views. Page views closed on 14.4m with the App accounting for over 4m of those total views.
According to Mirrror Media Editor-in-Chief John Kierans: “This is a fantastic achievement and a tremendous team effort. I am very honoured to work with such a group of dedicated and brilliant journalists. We continue to see unprecedented year-on-year growth, which proves that our simple strategy of delivering great journalism is working. Every day, our team is relentlessly focused on our audience and we strive to create content that interests them, whether it’s breaking news or human-interest stories. Of course, this is also good news for advertisers, who will see the growth in our media brands as opportunities to reach more audiences than ever.”
