SuperValu Offers Warm Reassurance to Irish Shoppers during the COVID 19 Crisis

Following the recent uncertainty across Ireland caused by the spread of the COVID19 virus, SuperValu, Ireland’s largest supermarket chain and creative agency, TBWA\Dublin, have released a timely, reassuring message to thank staff and remind customers that ‘we’re here for you’.

The new TV ad reassures customers that even through the most trying of times, SuperValu shelves remain stocked, and thanks to the dedication of their staff, the stores will remain open. The spot also reflects the current expert advice and encourages shoppers to respect a safe distance when visiting their local SuperValu Store. The message is also running across radio, in print and on social channels.

Des O’Mahony, SuperValu Strategy Marketing Manager, comments: “SuperValu have 223 stores across Ireland, and our place in the heart of Irish communities means we have a responsibility to be there for them, even in the most trying of times. We’re thankful for our suppliers, our dedicated drivers, and our staff on the store floor, in helping us provide food and essentials for our customers”.

Alan Byrne, Senior Copywriter at TBWA\Dublin, comments: “In tricky times, you really see what a brand stands for. SuperValu took this opportunity offer warmth and reassurance the Irish consumer. That’s what being part of a community is all about. The campaign was created at incredible pace, with client, agency and Windmill Lane pulling out all the stops to get this important message out.”
