Barry’s Tea has launched a new advertising campaign that taps into the emotional connection Irish people feel towards the brand and how the brand has become “a symbol of comfort, community and Irish identity and synonymous with the feeling of home.”
Created by TBWA\Ireland in collaboration with research agency Bricolage, the campaign was directed by the award-winning Ken Wadrop an revolves around two documentary-style ads that feature Blasket Island caretakers Darren McFadden and Emma Melay and rower Kelly Oforji, a member of the renowned Skibbereen Rowing Club.
“Barry’s Tea has always had a unique place in the hearts of Irish people, and it was a privilege to develop this campaign. ‘You’re Home’ is about celebrating that special bond people have with the brand, no matter where they are in the world,” says Sinead Lee, executive client growth director, TBWA\Ireland.
“Working with a world-class documentarian like Ken Wardrop allowed us to continue Barry’s Tea’s tradition of emotional storytelling. We’ve given it a fresh, contemporary approach that we believe will deeply resonate with people today,” adds Bairbre McGlade, TBWA\Ireland’s creative director.
