Bauer Media Audio Ireland was the big winner at the IMRO Radio Awards 2024 which took place at Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny last week with the group winning a total of 45 awards on the nights including 17 golds.
The broadcasting group picked up gold for National Station of the Year for Newstalk and Music Station of the Year for Red FM.
Gold awards were also secured by Ray Foley (Today FM), Tom Dunne (Newstalk) Off The Ball (Newstalk), The Hard Shoulder (Newstalk) while Newstalk’s coverage of the Dublin riots last year secured it two gold awards. It also picked up a gold for its All Irish With Claire Beck on Today FM in the Irish Music Programme/Initiative category.
In addition, the IMRO 24 Outstanding Achievement Award went to the Bauer-owned Beat 102 103 Digital Media Literacy Tour for secondary schools. which saw Beat’s multi-platform content creators delivering 41 bilingual digital media literacy information sessions, on site, at twenty different secondary schools.

Elsewhere, other gold winners on the night included six from the IRS+ network including Radio Nova, Midlands 103, Oceam FM and Radio Kerry.
