Mirror Media Ireland is to further expand its digital portfolio with the launch of www.dublinlive.ie later this month.
The new website – launched independently of its print title – follows in the footsteps of the successful roll-out of Belfastlive.co.uk which reached more than one million unique users for the first time in July 2015, less than five months after launch.
www.dublinlive.ie aims to be a one-stop shop for all things Dublin, featuring news, local sport, entertainment, events, local interest and What’s On listings. Edited by Alana Fearon, the site will be published from Mirror Media Ireland’s offices in Dublin.
“We want to be the voice of the city and a platform for Dubliners to be proud of and share in. We’ll be encouraging readers to send in their videos and pictures on social platforms, sharing the best of what our wonderful city has to offer. The team will focus on live breaking news and live blog from the big events happening across the city. We will have What’s On guides, reviews and so much more, bringing everything that’s happening in Dublin together on one dynamic website,” says Fearon.
“The evolving success of Belfast Live has shown there is a real appetite for quality, engaging local journalism, so we’re expanding our brand of standalone news websites to Ireland’s biggest city, creating new audiences and commercial opportunities. Dublin Live is the third website we’ve launched in as many years, testament to Trinity Mirror’s commitment to invest in the Irish market and digital products. We’re very confident our new offering will quickly become the daily go-to website for users in Dublin, and beyond,” says Joanne McGreevy, managing director of Mirror Media Ireland.
